Why bio bags?
POLLUTION
The plastic pollution crisis flooding our oceans is also a significant and growing threat to the Earth's climate. As the petrochemical and plastics industries plan massive expansion of production, the problem will continue to worsen.
If plastics production, disposal and incineration continue on their current growth path, these global emissions could reach 1.34 gigatons per year by 2030 - the equivalent of more than 295 five-hundred-megawatt coal-fired power plants. By 2050, plastics production and incineration could emit 2.8 gigatons of CO2 per year, releasing as many emissions as 615 five-hundred-megawatt coal-fired power plants. Crucially, these annual emissions will accumulate in the atmosphere over time. To avoid exceeding the 1.5°C target, total global greenhouse gas emissions must remain within a remaining (and rapidly declining) carbon budget of 420-570 gigatons of carbon.

THE SOLUTION?
Compostable and biodegradable bags!
Compostable and biodegradable bags are an eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastic bags. These bags are made from materials that are biodegradable and compostable, meaning they can decompose in a compostable environment within weeks or months.
What does biodegradable mean?
Biodegradable are products that decompose themselves in nature through the effects of the environment and microorganisms. How do compostable bags help the environment? Compostable bags can keep landfills free of any kind of plastic or waste (they don't even have to end up in landfills), but they go a step further by giving the soil back the nutrients it needs through composting. There is great satisfaction in knowing that you are not only helping the environment by cleaning up pollution, but you are also giving it that 'something'. gives back that keeps them alive and thriving.
Are compostable bags worth it?
Compostable bags are a worthwhile investment for a number of reasons. For one, they're a greener alternative to traditional plastic bags because they're made from biodegradable and compostable materials. Another benefit of compostable bags is that they're often made from renewable resources like cornstarch or potato starch. This reduces dependence on fossil fuels and contributes to sustainability.
Do compostable bags break down in home compost?
Yes, if your compost bin at home has a minimum temperature of 45°C, it can easily decompose. One of the best compostable bags on the market is the "BioBag Compostable Bags". These are certified compostable in both America and Europe and also meet OK Compost HOME requirements. All our organic bags have the OK Compost HOME certificate.
